.SH DESCRIPTION
\fBto-gzip\fR recompresses files compressed with the \fBcompress\fR,
\fBlzop\fR, and/or \fBzip\fR utilities into \fIgzip\fR format. The newly
compressed files will usually have a \fI.gz\fR or a \fI.tgz\fR extension. If a
specified file is actually a URL, it will be downloaded using \fBwget\fR and
then recompressed.
.SH OPTIONS
.TP
\fB\-4\fR
Prefer IPv4 when downloading a URL.
.TP
\fB\-6\fR
Prefer IPv6 when downloading a URL.
.TP
\fB\-d\fR
After each file is compressed, delete the original.
.TP
\fB\-h\fR
Print help and quit.
.TP
\fB\-k\fR
Once a file is successfully recompressed, delete the larger of the original
file or the new one. This option maximizes disk space savings and is
incompatible with the \fB\-d\fR option.
.TP
\fB\-n\fR
Do not overwrite the target \fI.gz\fR or \fI.tgz\fR file if it already exists.
.TP
\fB\-p\fR\~\fInum_cores\fR
Use multi-threaded \fBpigz\fR instead of \fBgzip\fR to utilize multiple cores
during compression. Note that the output file, while being fully compatible
with \fBgzip\fR, will generally be slightly larger. Specifying a
\fInum_cores\fR value of zero will utilize all available cores.
.TP
\fB\-t\fR
Make the timestamp of new files match those of the old files.
