.SH NAME
to-bzip \- converts .Z, .lzo, .zip, .rar, and .gz files to bzip2 format
.SH SYNOPSIS
.SH DESCRIPTION
\fBto-bzip\fR recompresses files compressed with the \fBcompress\fR,
\fBlzop\fR, \fBzip\fR, and/or \fBgzip\fR utilities into \fIbzip2\fR format.
The newly compressed files will usually have a \fI.bz2\fR or a \fI.tbz\fR
extension. If a specified file is actually a URL, it will be downloaded using
\fBwget\fR and then recompressed.
.SH OPTIONS
Prefer IPv4 when downloading a URL.
Prefer IPv6 when downloading a URL.
After each file is compressed, delete the original.
Print help and quit.
Once a file is successfully recompressed, delete the larger of the original
file or the new one. This option maximizes disk space savings and is
incompatible with the \fB\-d\fR option.
Do not overwrite the target \fI.bz2\fR or \fI.tbz\fR file if it already exists.
Use multi-threaded \fBlbzip2\fR or \fBpbzip2\fR instead of \fBbzip2\fR to
utilize multiple cores during compression. Note that the output file, while
being fully compatible with \fBbzip2\fR, will generally be slightly larger.
Specifying a \fInum_cores\fR value of zero will utilize all available cores.
Make the timestamp of new files match those of the old files.
