The requested HTML page contains a tag that is unusable on "Fossies" in "automatic" (rendered) mode so that page is shown as HTML source code syntax highlighting (style: standard) with prefixed line numbers. Alternatively you can here view or download the uninterpreted source code file.

11 Gnome project. XML is a standard for building tag-based
   12 structured documents/data.

Here are some key points about libxml:

   13
Libxml2 exports Push (progressive) and Pull (blocking) type parser
14 interfaces for both XML and HTML.

   15
Libxml2 can do DTD validation at parse time, using a parsed document
16 instance, or with an arbitrary DTD.

   17
Libxml2 includes complete XPath, XPointer and XInclude implementations.

   18
It is written in plain C, making as few assumptions as possible, and
19 sticking closely to ANSI C/POSIX for easy embedding. Works on
20 Linux/Unix/Windows, ported to a number of other platforms.

   21
Basic support for HTTP and FTP client allowing applications to fetch
   22 remote resources.

   23
The design is modular, most of the extensions can be compiled out.

   24
The internal document representation is as close as possible to the DOM interfaces.

   25
Libxml2 also has a SAX like interface;
26 the interface is designed to be compatible with Expat.

   27
This library is released under the MIT
28 License. See the Copyright file in the distribution for the precise
   29 wording.

   30

Warning: unless you are forced to because your application links with a
31 Gnome-1.X library requiring it, Do Not Use libxml1, use
   32 libxml2

Daniel Veillard
